Creating Executable Shell Scripts – beginners guide please!

Hi Guys, I am found so shell scripts that may work within our enviroment but, I don't know how to create shell scripts!!! 8O 8O 8O 8O Soooooo, could one of you kind souls please point me in the right direction?
