Clone server across subnet

Hi i have setup a clone server as detailed in the article "Bring on the Clones". My clone is in another subnet and I am having difficulty in getting the clients on that subnet to athenticate to the clone server. They will however authenticate to the master. Is this possible, any help appreciated
