change “current HostName” with changeip

We are having problems with an XServe and ARD's Task Server function. It may be DNS related. running "changeip - checkhostname" returns this (exact results changed): [code]server1:~ admin$ sudo changeip -checkhostname Primary address = 123.123.123.12 Current HostName = server1 DNS HostName = serverX.example.edu[/code] I think what I'd like to achieve is to change the "current Hostname" from "server1" to "serverX.example.edu".... i've tried running several different commands but it won't change. I've run these commands: [code]changeip /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 123.123.123.12 123.123.123.12 server1 serverX.example.edu and changeip - 123.123.123.12 123.123.123.12 server1 serverX.example.edu[/code] This is a 10.4.11 Server, in advanced mode, which is not running any Apple services. OD is the only thing that is green and is set for 'standalone'. Thanks, Chris
