Anyone using Xserve for 200+ clients?

I'm curious of anyone out there has any experience using OS X Server as a plain AFP file server for 200-250 Mac clients. I'm just looking to find out how stable this is. We're looking to hookup about 50TB of storage. The clients will be working on InDesign files from the server. We're not looking at having the box provide much more than AFP services. All opinions are welcome. TIA.
