Adobe Community Help

Well, as I am starting to deploy Adobe Community Help, I believe I have ran into more snags as expected. There is the new Adobe Community Help product. a.k.a Adobe Help installed in the Applications folder. At first glance all looked good. However, I noticed when I updated the program to have the newest help content, guess where it downloaded to? Yep, a user's home directory. 150 MB worth. This is also where the pref file is to suppress the prompts to update the content. The folder is called: chc.[longstringofnumbers] and it's located in ~/Preferences. I have not verified if the string of numbers is the same on all machines yet or if it's tied to mac address, license or something else. So hopefully this at least gives you a heads up. If anyone has found a workaround, I'd love to hear it. The only thing I can think of at this point is using folder redirection. I experienced something similar last year with CS4 and Device Central. I removed that from our install because we didn't have the need for it. Thanks, Steve
