AD users not able to login to other AD Bound OSX Servers– HomeServer issue

I'm having issues with AD users not being able to log on to other AD bounded OSX servers if they do not see their home server (stored on OSX Server). My setup: I have user accounts stored on AD with the home attribute set to their local home server on the OSX server(home server). I also have several other servers (OSX servers) that are bound to the Active Directory for authentication. If the local home server (OSX server) is offline then those AD users are not able to connect via AFP to the other OSX servers that are bound to Active Directory. I hope that make sense.
