AD users can only log in after client reboot 10.4 server 10.5 client

Hi On my 10.4 server bound to our AD I am experiencing an annoying problem. The client needs to be rebooted for a different user to be able to log in. Also notice in WGM looking at the AD users that NFS "homes" are created for all users from volumes that have been logged into. Not sure if this has anything to do with it though as they are all gray and not editable. NFS is not running. I even killed it from the terminal Any tips as to how to troubleshoot this one?
