able to write and then suddenly not able to write

I have a user that is able to read and write to a sharepoint and then suddenly after working for a while he is unable to write to the sharepoint. He then has to log and log back in and he is able to write again. Sharepoint on Mac os x server 10.3.9 and his client is mac os x 10.3.9
