1.4b4 base updates and custom pkgs not installing properly

I have tried this twice now and both times my packages fail to install while writing the receipt. I am using instadmg1.4b4 using an OEM 10.5.4 iMac DVD. The OS installs, the cache image is created, and 10.5.5 combo update is successful. After that *nearly* all other packages fail.
