10.4.6 update killed AFP…

So I just ran the 10.4.6 update on 3 of my servers and now AFP is repeatedly crashing. The test install I did in my lab didn't have this problem but of course the 3 production servers did.. the AFP log shows this The server wasn't able to start (Unable to register IPC port) Crash reporter log wasn't all that useful... suggestions?
