10.2 Server -Postfix and vacation question

I have configured our 10.2 server to use Postfix. I have also setup SquirrelMail (and IMP for comparison) for webmail. I can send and receive mail OK. However, I am having trouble setting up vacation replies. I have tried using webmail plugins. Can someone point me to a reference (for UNIX beginner) for setting this up? It appears that the ftp of the .forward files into the user home directory is working. Is that where the files should be.? How can I tell where the issue lies? Thanks for any help, Andy
